Every time you make slash from Square Enix characters, God kills a chocobo.
Please, think of the chocobos.

Glaze has elements of glass, but it is different from glass...certainly in the way i apply it anyway

It that the glass melts a thin layer of the ceramic underneath it and fuses to the clay. A Frit is a glaze or glass that has been ground into powder to either contain lead without being as toxic or to have a more stable and predictable reaction. [link] So if you're using glass as the starting point, its the same as using an unground frit. The glass melts, reacts with the clay body as a flux and thus causes the body to melt and fuse.
So you can start with a coke bottle, put it on the piece, fire, and it will still be a glaze so long as the coke bottle melted and fused to the body.
